Mask for a Cause
A global pandemic hit. Toilet paper became the new currency, Clorox wipes became the new lottery in stores, and masks became a new way of life to protect ourselves from COVID-19 and of course, a fashion statement. Friends and family came together to find toilet paper and disinfectants, spreading love and support.
Unable to secure masks, I taught myself how to sew and started making masks for myself and husband. A couple of social posts later, I started making masks for family, friends, and first responders with a pay it forward program, which turned into a fundraiser for meals to feed those who were in need, turned into a fundraiser to save dogs from shelters and meat farms in South Korea. 150+ patterns later, I have made more than 700 masks and counting.
